SDP candidate for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has accused Kogi state government for issuing a circular to traditional rulers who are the custodian of our culture not to receive him in their palaces during the electioneering campaigns.
Ajaka who bare his mind during a statement in Idah on Wednesday said it is unfortunate that the state government continue to ostracize the traditional class, through bastardization of our cultural heritage.
He regretted that under the current administration, the traditional class had become not only a tool , but a target of denigration before kogi state government, a situation he will correct when he assumed power in Kogi by the grace of God.
The traditional class are leaving in fear and threat of been deposed from the stool of their ancestors, because of overzealous leadership style going on on Kogi state.
“We are already blessed by the spirit of our forefathers in Kogi state , but the need to start on a clean slate was desiring.”
“We are convinced that the infectious crowd is the fear of the current leadership, stating that freedom has come for the people of Kogi state in the next dispensation.”
He urged the teeming crowd to be fearless and determined to vote out the abberation in Kogi under APC, saying the current administration is the worst thing that has happened to the state.
He promised to implement the opposite policies of the present administration that had pauperized our once vibrant civil service, responsive business class and enterprenuers, promising to address the anomaly in the state lingering for about 8 years.
He thanked the teeming supporters for their resolve to resist the third term of Yahaya Bello, saying Kogi will be worst hit when allowed to return to power.
A circular was issued via the commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy affairs not to host the SDP candidate in their domain or bless him in the forthcoming electioneering campaigns in the state.
