The Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has been described as a sterling model in Leadership by an elite pressure group, the Idah Club 6575 while on a working visit to him in Abuja.
The Club, currently being led by a former Chairman of Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Dr. Abutalib Major Abubakar Musa consists of professionals and leaders of thoughts drawn from different strata of the society united in progress to advance the peace, development and socioeconomic status of Idah, Igala Land and Kogi State in general. The Club’s very powerful delegation included Alhaji Yahaya Adama, Engr. Adaji Usman, High Chief Pharmacist Peter Yakubu Iduh and Mallam Muhammed Nasiru Umar.
In a mission statement delivered during their visit, the group’s President revealed that the group is a non-partisan coalition and has no place for any political, religious or sectional interests. He added that the enduring political journey of Rep. Halims coupled with his delectable track records of performance makes him a sterling model of Leadership among his contemporaries and it is upon the backdrop of these virtues that the group set out to reckon with him.
Furthermore, Dr. Abutalib Major Abubakar Musa outlined academic scholarships, ICT trainings, medical outreach and security support as some of the notable projects so far carried out by the group as their own way of giving back to the society and called on the Federal Lawmaker to support their future lined up programs.
In his response, the Deputy House Leader thanked the Idah Club6575 for finding him worthy of their fellowship. He commended the club’s make up in view of the character and personalities of her members adding that good governance is a collective responsibility of all concerns.
On his part, Dr. Adama Ahmed Muhammed while giving a vote of thanks applauded the numerous life touching and impacting programmes of Rep. Halims across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State spanning into decades as visibly verifiable in his previous places of assignment and current office.
Earlier in his own remarks during the visit, a seasoned grassroots political leader cum parliamentarian of very high repute, Haruna Idoko Musa commended the open door policies of Rep. Halims. He described it as a rare political characteristic and urged him to uphold it.
