The newly Inaugurated Caretaker Chairman of Idah local government council, Hon Amade Egwuda Ochijenu on Tuesday, 9th January, 2024 took over the reins of the local government.
The Caretaker Chairman who took over from the Director of local government and Head of Service, Mrs Asana Ocheje, thanked the DLG/HoS for holding forth especially during the yuletide with no security breach despite the inflow of people to the town.
The Chairman also promised to improve on the security of the local government as “protection of lives and property is the major responsibility of the council.”
The Chairman Hon. Amade later visited the Ata Igala and Chairman, Kogi State Council of Chiefs HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa CON.
At the Ata Igala’s Palace, the Chairman thanked His Royal Majesty “for the promotion of peace, unity and harmony within the domain which are the major ingredients of development.” He pledged “total support with the traditional council as our collaboration will fast track human and infrastructural development of our area.”
As an evidence of new leadership that is focused, determined and purposeful with milk of human kindness, Hon Amade led a team to pay condolence on the family of Alhaji Yahaya Odoma popularly known as “Yahaya Achagogo” a businessman and community leader who died on Monday, 8th January, 2024 in Abuja.
The Chairman prayed God to grant his ” soul eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss. ”
Hon. Amade also visited the family of Chief Memuna Opaluwa Oguche of blessed memory, Iye Akwuma who died in a fire incident. He acknowledged the role of Mama “who was always on hand to provide advice at all times. Mama’s absence will surely be missed as she has left a vacuum that may never be replaced.”
