Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State earlier today,2nd January,2024 joined his counterparts from from Nasarawa,Kogi,Niger,Kwara and Plateau states on a sympathy visit to victims and families of the 24th December,2023 Massacre in Bokkos and Birkin Ladin,LGAs of Plateau State,where over 200 persons were reportedly killed by armed bandits and terrorists.
As a leading voice against terrorism and armed banditry in the North Central States of Nigeria, Governor Hyacinth Alia called for sophisticated collaborations between the Governors of the North Central States and the Armed Forces of Nigeria in tackling the emerging challenges of insecurity in the country. Governor further assured of every cooperation and support from Benue State Government to the armed forces in stemming the tide of terrorism and insurgency in the country,and North Central States in particular.
