Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has disclosed that the activities of rampaging armed bandits in some volatile local government areas of the state, has drastically been curbed.
This, according to him, was made possible by the support the state government received from the local governments’ Chairmen.
Governor Radda revealed this on Monday when he met with all the 34 Katsina LG chairmen at the Katsina State Government House.
A statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the spokesperson of the Katsina Governor, said other issues discussed at the meeting between Governor Radda and the chairmen include security, agriculture, food security, and primary healthcare.
“Mr. Governor applauded the local government chairmen for their joint efforts in addressing insecurity in their respective LGAs. He also acknowledged that armed banditry in the frontline local government areas had drastically reduced.
“On agriculture, Governor Radda reiterated his commitment to boosting irrigation across all the LGAs and revealed his plans for the distribution of improved seedlings and farming equipment to support local farmers in their quest to provide food security in the State,” part of the statement reads.
