With profound sorrow, I received the news of the passing of Hon. Sodiq Alajagusi, representative of Ilorin West/Asa federal constituency in the 9th National Assembly.
The demise of Hon. Alajagusi, following a prolonged illness, serves as a poignant reminder of the transient nature of life. His life’s challenges underscore the undeniable truth that everything in life is fleeting.
This was in a statement signed by the Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies issued on Tuesday.
Hon. Alajagusi, bestowed with the privilege of a dignified position in the Green chamber of Africa’s most populous nation, faced the unfortunate reality of being unable to fully embrace the responsibilities of his office or provide the desired legislative representation to his cherished constituents due to health challenges throughout his four-year tenure.
In the face of his illness, I earnestly hope and pray that the pains he endured serve as a purification for any shortcomings he, like all mortals, may have had before his Creator.
My heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved family during this moment of grief. May Allah grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
I extend my sympathies to the people of Ilorin West/Asa constituency and the entire Kwara state on the departure of this exemplary patriot and democrat.
