It was a family reunion, solemn appearances and emotion filled environment in Anyigba community, Dekina local government area of Kogi state, as the family of the late woman leader, successful business woman, and community leader, Hajiya Laraba Salamatu Sule Akagwu who died 40 years ago was been remembered through prayers and supplications.
The event which took place on Saturday, November 25, 2023 marked 40 years of her departure to the mother earth, after a successful life sojourn , though a short life well spent in 1983.
Late Hajiya Laraba who was prominent across Igala land was known for her numerous merchandise across the old middle belt states and opinion moulder , leader of her time.
While on earth , she was prominent and known for sales and supplies of various items, consumables, contracts as well as clothing’s with huge success across Igala land and the old Benue State.
As early as 10 am , Moslem clerics, family members, sons and daughters, some of her grand children and great grand children, wives and sympathisers trooped into the family house of her late husband, Alhaji (Chief ) Sule Akagwu Kpaleko of Anyigba community in the area.
The Chief Imam of Anyigba community who led the prayers to remember the good deeds of Hajiya Laraba Salamatu Sule Akagwu prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to have mercies upon the soul of the late woman leader and the husband who are no more alive.
The large family members and offshoot of Hajiya Laraba Salamatu Sule Akagwu gathered at the residence of the husband off old Egume road to pray for continuous reward of the late patriach with Aljanatul firdaus.
The gatherings provided an opportunity for family reunion, interactions and deliberations on pressing family matters with the presence of wives, inlaws , children, brothers and sisters.
The occasion ended with celebration, exchange of greetings and banters among family members and visitors.
