The Office of the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Research,Documentation and Strategy has taken knowledge and documentation of facts,figures and records/documentation of the following pragmatic strides and achievements of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia’s administration in Benue State,so far.
These include but NOT entirely limited to the following:
1.The consistent, purposeful and determined payment of salaries,pensions and gratuities of government workers across the state,since assumption of office on the 29th of May,2023.
2.The administration of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia is currently carrying a broad,comprehensive and renovation/rehabilitation of the Benue State Civil Service Secretariat and the Benue State House of Assembly as critical institutions of governance and administration. These projects are at their completion levels.
3. The administration is currently opening up and constructing/rehabilitating over 23 notable roads across Benue State,spanning varying degrees of kilometers. These includes the dualization of the popular Captain Downes Road in Gboko Local Government Area and the Central Oturkpo Township Ring Road,among others.
6.Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has approved the procurement of 100 public transport buses for Benue Links Limited so as to ease the financial burden of transport for the masses.
8. Governor Hyacinth Alia has resuscitated the obsolete/ non functional Makurdi Streetlights which were abandoned by the immediate past administration,while new streetlights currently being installed/mounted on streets where they never exited.
9.Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia is currently training Benue youths in Information Communication Technology sector,in what he tags as “LET’s GO DIGITAL PROJECT”. This is a deliberate state policy policy,response and programme that is targeted at boosting youth creativity,job creation and empowerment of Benue citizens.
10. The Alia administration has so far set a pace and effective machinery for zero tolerance to indiscipline,corruption and to ensure due process in the business of governance and administration. So far,Due Office has established under the Office of the Executive Governor of the state. In a practical demonstration to this commitment,the Governor of Benue upon assumption of duty had to call for the temporary freezing of all Benue State accounts for six months,in which evidential fictitious transactions and approval of mandates/cheques were issued and approved for payment with six months by the outgone Ortom administration,which inflicted and planned to inflict more galloping consequences on the state treasury/economy until God rescued the state with the victory of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia as the new Governor.
11.Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has since the inception of his administration has tenaciously ensured a renewed and committed synergy with the federal government of Nigeria attracting federal attention to the critical infrastructural and humanitarian needs of the Benue people. So far,the government has commenced the construction of permanent rehabilitation homes for Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs), one among which the rehabilitation home at Ukpiam between Guma/Makurdi Local Government Areas of Benue State. Other projects in this regard include the approval for the rehabilitation of some major federal roads in the state,such as the Ihugh-Tser Mker Road,the Makurdi -Naka road,the Gboko-Ugbema-Katsina Aka road,etc.
12. To revive and sustain the Food Basket Status of Benue State which was grossly compromised and jeopardized the years,Governor Hyacinth Alia has given priority attention to food security in the state,by way for subsidization of prices of farm inputs,seedlings and plants for subsistence and agribusiness in the state. The 2023 farming seasons to Benue farmers has been laced with sufficient supply of fertilizer and pesticides at highly subsidized rates of 70% discount.
13. Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has so far paid the salaries of his commissioners,special advisers and other appointees,arrears covering their dates of assumption of office.
