By Abubakar Yusuf.
A media analyst, Mallam Abubakar Yusuf has advised President Tinubu to reconsider competence, hardwork, performance and continuity as part of it’s decisions to inject new bloods into Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government, stating that unilateral removal will whittled down dedicated ones.
Yusuf dropped this observation on Tuesday at the backdrop of the continuous replacement of head of parastatals, agencies of government whose tenure was either renewed or has not elapsed and or deserve to be reappointed.
“I don’t want to mention names but I advised President Tinubu to set up an independent inquiries into the activities of former head of agencies and if possible return some of them to these agencies.”
“Iam not unaware that some head of agencies had revolutionized their activities beyond what they met on assumption of duty , not only that had also exposed the country in the comity of nations in the international sphere, the only way to reward such unique performance is reappointment and not outright termination of appointments .
“He asked the President to graciously revisit such decisions , stating that how can someone appointed or confirmed four months away be removed from office.”
He reminded the Nigerian leader that some of his appointees had no exposure to public office, it therefore behoves on him to understudy them before giving them such tasking opportunity, so as not to affect his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Yusuf praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for replacing some obvious recalcitrant and non performing ones, while others desired to be compensated in all areas.
