A desperate plot to legitimise the six deadly thugs of Governor Yahaya Bello arrested at the weekend in Anyigba with deadly weapons by declaring them Vigilante members has been uncovered.
Already Mr Bello has directed the State Security Adviser one Commander Jerry Omadara to procure official government vigilante ID Cards for the six bandits.
This is to enable Bellos agents claim the thugs were actually Vigilante operatives fighting crime on behalf of the State Governor.
There are fears that the thugs with street names of Assignment, Baba-5-5, Lukmon Shoku, Nuhu, DJ Abass Alias Grinya and Bala Ete will be released today and unleashed on the defenceless people of Kogi State.
This ungodly plot is unfolding even when two of the thugs Baba-5-5 and Assignment are reported to have confessed that the female APC thug killed in Koto recently was mistakenly shot by Grinya.
But Mr.Yahaya Bello is using all the advantages as his disposal to pressurize the army to free the killers.
We are hereby crying out to Nigerians and the world to add their voices and prevent further bloodletting in Kogi State by insisting that these brazen bandits are arraigned and prosecuted rather than leave the good people of Kogi State at their mercy.
We fear that these bandits and over 200 others still being camped around Lokoja, Okene and Jimgbe by Bello will be further emboldened to become deadlier since they now know that they are above the law with the support of their sponsor and benefactor, Mr Bello.
More than twenty persons were killed by thugs unleashed by Mr.Bello in the November 2019 Governorship Elections in Kogi including shot by police helicopter procured by Bello.
How many more Kogi people must die in the hands of Bello’s thugs to evoke of Nigerians and our Federal Government?
We call on the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Defense Staff, the Minister of Defense, the National Security Adviser and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and prevent Mr Bello from using his influence to further unleash bloodthirsty bandits on the defenceless people of Kogi State in his desperation to win the Governorship Election his unpopular cousin that he wants to impose on the people.
