The Allied People’s Movement, APM has described the extension of the implementation of the 2025 budget circle to December 2026, as an aberration that has not been witnessed since the history of Nigeria in the area of budget implementation and circle.
The party also said that it is obvious of another ploy of the Tinubu led administration to use the proceeds in funding the 2027 general elections for the All Progressives Congress, APC from top to bottom using the capital budget components.
This was contained in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of APM, Abubakar Yusuf frowning against the negative development.
According to the APM spokesman , what is the fate of the 2026 budget in the last quarter of the year fast running out?.
The APM condemns in the strongest term and rejected the running of budget circle in Nigeria since the inception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the last three and half years.
It is completely unacceptable for the achievements made towards budget performance over the years has been truncated by the maladminstration of the current Tinubu leadership.
It is also inconceivable and unbecoming of Nigeria’s leadership both at the legislative and executive arm to mortgage the fate of ordinary Nigerians, through the erratic execution of budget circle since the inception of the Tinubu’s heartless and inhuman leadership.
The National Publicity Secretary recalled for eight consecutive years budget circle ran from January to December , a situation bastardised by the corrupt, inconsiderate tendencies of the present administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Agreed, the budget circle was bastardised in the previous administrations that ran till june of the following year , but worsened beyond redemption by the current administration that now condoned the whole subsequent years of the previous budgets.
“We experienced this in 2024, 2025 and now 2026 budgets which may run through till December, 2027 putting the lives of ordinary Nigerians in jeopardy and uncertainty.” He said
“What will be the fate of Nigerians with regards to economic, social and infrastructural development in the last four years and subsequent years with the obvious abnormaly with regards to budget circle and performance. ” He queried.
“Since budget is expected to guard and guide the annual expenditures of a nation both in capital and recurrent, it is glaring that the current performance will stabilize sharp practices, corruption, naked stealing at the top level of government under the APC administration. ”
We however appeal to the suffering Nigerians, that under the Engr Seyi Makinde APM led presidency just like it is practicable in oyo state in the last seven years, will be redressed to the benefit of all .
“The resolve to vote Engr Seyi Makinde in the January 2027 general elections will no doubt put an end to years of sufferings of many Nigerians, and circle of corruption of the privileged few in the shortest possible time. ”
With APM at the Helms of Nigeria’s government under Engr Seyi Makinde’s presidency, economic, social and infrastructural development will be prioritized seamlessly.
