The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) notes the lackluster return of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from his prolonged holidays in France on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, but observes that he was not missed by Nigerians as his presence or absence makes little or no difference to their daily struggles with hunger, misery and insecurity.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of APM, Abubakar Yusuf on Wednesday in Abuja.
Unlike in other climes where regular citizens throng the streets in celebration to welcome their leaders, Nigerians snubbed President Tinubu’s return in spite of the advance announcement by the Presidency, leaving Mr. President to be received by a handful of his officials, kitchen cabinet, party members and rented drummers.
The refusal of regular Nigerians to welcome President Tinubu is a clear indication that the citizens no longer attach value to his presence given his abdication of duties and abysmal performance in office which has brought the nation to her knees in the last three years.
Worse still, the video evidence of Nigerians on the streets of Lagos booing Mr. President on arrival with chants of “ole”, reflects deep-seated resentment and dissatisfaction with his leadership and signals his imminent defeat in the January 2027 Presidential election.
Since assumption of office, President Tinubu has continued to spend public funds on very expensive foreign holiday trips that deliver no tangible benefits to Nigerians. He has become completely disconnected and appears indifferent to issues relating to the wellbeing of the citizens.
Today, in the mouths of majority of Nigerians and even foreigners, President Tinubu’s government represents national hopelessness and misery.
In the over three years in office, the Tinubu administration had remained insensitive to the plight of the people with its ill-conceived policies that have wrecked our productive sector, exterminated millions of means of livelihood, and brought untold hardship on families; the reason Nigerians are determined to vote him out of office in January.
The message is clear; Nigerians have rejected the APC-led administration and are ready, as Resetters, to vote in a new leadership as embodied in the Presidential Candidate of the APM and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde,
The rousing reception greeting Engr. Makinde anywhere he goes in Nigeria reflects his soaring popularity and acceptance as the credible replacement for the failed President Tinubu. Nigerians have accepted Engr. Makinde candidacy as an opportunity to reset the country towards greatness, development, prosperity and national unity.
When elected President, Engr. Makinde will be a present and responsive President whose leadership will positively impact every aspect of life in our country.
The APM urges Nigerians to remain steadfast in their determination, as Reset Agents, to vote out President Tinubu and give our nation a new lease of life under a Makinde/Daura Presidency, come 2027.
