Former APC National Women Leader, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar- Eluma was part of the prominent Nigerians that attended the unveiling of High Level Ministerial Press Briefing to officially flag off Nigeria’s 2026 International Women’s Day Activities.
The event held in Abuja on Friday at the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development witnessed dignataries from all walks of life , including top politicians.
The event powered by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development under the Minister, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim witnessed achievements recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda, RHA of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly on the welfare of women and development.
The theme of the event titled “Right, Justice, Action for All Women and Girls with the campaign slogan ; Given to Gain” came at a time when the issue of Walida is at the front burner .
Also present at the occasion was the Minister of State , Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmed, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy , Wale Edun, Minister of State , Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Development Partners , among others that witnessed the flag off by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman- Ibrahim.
The occasion also witnessed the Breaking of Fast by both faith to mark the Lent and Ramadan season.

“Today, I had the privilege of participating in the High-Level Ministerial Press Briefing organized by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim to officially flag off Nigeria’s 2026 International Women’s Day Activities.”
“The engagement highlighted the importance of advancing the rights, dignity, and opportunities of women and girls in line with this year’s theme:
“Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.”
“It was also an opportunity to reflect on the progress being made on the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention (RHSII-774) under the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, particularly through social impact initiatives that prioritize women, children, families, and vulnerable groups.”
“As we move forward, it is important that we continue to work collectively—government, private sector, development partners, and civil society—to ensure that every woman and girl child have the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.”
