My attention has been drawn to a recent Facebook post made for cheap popularity which was authored by one Rock Yusuf , wherein certain allegations were made against my Boss the Executive Chairman of Idah Local Government, Hon. Alhaji Alfa Halilu.
While democratic governance accommodates divergent opinions and constructive criticism, it is imperative that public commentary be guided by accuracy, fairness, and a sense of responsibility.
The assertions portraying the Chairman as incompetent, selective in addressing criminality, or indifferent to the plight of the people are, with due respect, mischaracterizations that do not reflect the realities on ground.
Hon. Alhaji Alfa Halilu has consistently displayed purposeful and responsive leadership, and that has earned him the recognition as one of the most active and pragmatic local government chairmen in Kogi East and across Kogi State.
Know this,
Security management within any local government is neither arbitrary nor unilateral, It operates through a coordinated framework involving statutory security agencies vested with the constitutional authority to investigate, arrest, and prosecute offenders. The Chairman’s role is to provide oversight, facilitate collaboration, and support these agencies within the ambit of the law.
To suggest that he deliberately permits “real criminals” to go free while targeting minor offenders is an oversimplification that disregards the institutional processes governing law enforcement.
Equally, the insinuation that his attendance at community events, such as funeral services constitutes negligence of duty fails to appreciate the essence of grassroots leadership. In our socio-cultural environment, such engagements are integral to public service, symbolizing empathy, accessibility, and solidarity with constituents during moments of grief and transition. Community presence does not negate administrative commitment; rather, it complements it.
Under the stewardship of Hon. Alhaji Alfa Halilu, Idah Local Government has continued to witness proactive governance marked by security collaboration, and developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing public welfare. These tangible efforts are evident to fair-minded observers and cannot be obscured by rhetoric or personal sentiment.
While criticism remains a legitimate instrument of accountability, it must be constructive and evidence-based. Public discourse should elevate conversations toward solutions rather than amplify divisive narratives. Leadership is ultimately assessed by measurable impact and sustained service not by the tenor of social media commentary.
Hon. Alhaji Alfa Halilu remains committed to the peace, security, and progress of Idah Local Government, and will undoubtedly continue to discharge his mandate with integrity, diligence, and a dedication to the people.
Attai, it is okay hate some people because of party or other political differences but you fit do your content and chase your clout in a very clean way…. No stain people image for popularity….
