For Bridget Omabolanle Oloworaran ,The Director General, National Pension Commission, PenCom, proven the cynics wrong had become obvious, based on the previous assessment and insinuations that the previous leadership was far better in the area of management and administration on her assumption of duty and assessment.
Coming from the private sector , were discipline, performance and goal getting was the bane of existence and operations, one year down the line, Ms Omolola Bridget Oloworaran had become not only a goal getter in all areas of pension administration, but superfluously performed beyond expectations in all areas.
Versed in boardroom procedures with large and wide experience, Oloworaran deployed the wealth of experiences garnered over the decades from the private sector into the workings of the public sector.
Conscious of the transformation agenda of the present administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the helms woman of the pension administration has inculcated the template and workings which has reduced to the barest minimum, the problems of pensioners in the country.
Aside regulating and ensuring the statutory functions of pension administrator PFA and administration, she also ensured payment of pension and pensioners hitherto cumbersome was resolved without delay.
Having built it’s base to over 26 Trillion since assumption of duty from the previous low base, just one year down the line , Oloworaran through adequate reformation and re-orientation had put the Pension Fund Administrator PFAs on their toes, through a robust policy framework to avoid shortchanging contributors.
She ensured her visionary and impactful leadership is all encompassing to the pension industry, as timely payment of accrued pension rights of retirees is no longer delayed.
The Director General also prioritized staff welfare through trainings and retraining, payment of allowances and as well as constant reorientation.
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) under Oloworaran recently launched Pension Revolution 2.0 – Stronger Pensions, Stronger Nigeria.
“Unlocking pension assets as a dependable source of financing for national development, Pension Revolution 2.0 is more than regulatory reform, it is a renewal of trust, an evolution of our system, and a bold national strategy,” She said .
“It is a transformative programme of reforms that builds on two decades of progress to guide Nigeria’s pension industry into its next phase of growth and resilience.”
Under her watch, PenCom has experienced renewed vigour and energy, stronger collaborations, and a clear sense of direction as the Commission advances major reforms across the pension industry.
Her Inspiring leadership continues to restore confidence and drive excellence across the organisation in the last one year.
