The Enough Of Felele Trucks’ Accidents Initiative (EFTAI) has called on Kogi State Government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to take advantage of the challenge on the road to add to the Revenue Profile (RP) of the state, safe people’s lives from needless deaths and generate investment and employment opportunities therein for the people.
Explaining this, the Convener, Comrade Onibiyo Dayo, opined that the road mishaps can come to a total end on that road, if trucks can be taken off the road at the peak of their entry, when thier brakes are hot and has lost traction to work effectively, while descending the steep-gradient. He added that, accidents don’t just happen and would not want to believe that Government is seeing it as purely spiritual than unintentional errors.
“EFTAI won’t want to bore anyone with the story of the unplanned density of human populace sprawling daily everywhere and leading to high traffic as a factor, but rather dwell on the solution”, the group observed that, the campaign has been on for one hundred and forty (140) days non stop, within which two other accidents had occured, with one claiming the life of a final year student of FUL, needlessly.
EFTAI said, Government should not look at it, like a problem, but see it as an urgent daring challenge and immediately resolve it by taken our suggested design on, if it has no other plans: the group described the solution has not money gulping but money investing and yielding, that, which will ultimately fund itself and feed the people, using the investment drive opportunity via particularly investment options.
EFTAI, says it knows what is in this for the nation and the world by extension as several people from the entire world have a reason to drive or ply this road so far they are headed to or fro Abuja.
The group says, it does not see any reason why Governor Ododo, who has done other great things such as, turning around the story of PAU Ayingba on the right to offer Medicine, brought minimum wage to Kogi workers, brought relief for Pensioners, took away percentage salaries and other good things, *noting that the same Governor can not afford to look at these same people’s children, cousins, nephew and what have you getting killed helplessly when indeed it can stop it.*
“Every seconds of further delay on fixing that road is nothing but dangerous and an invitation to another sad scene” the group concludes.
