The Convener of the Presidential Call for Advanced Nigeria (PCAN) Project, Ambassador (Prince) Jeffrey S. Adaralegbe, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peace, and cultural understanding as vital tools for the nation’s advancement.

Adaralegbe, who made the call, during the official launch of the Presidential Call for an Advanced Nigeria (PEAN) campaign in Abuja, highlighted on Nigeria’s historical journey from colonial rule through civil unrest and military regimes, to the present democratic era.

The convener emphasised that despite persistent challenges such as ethnic and religious divisions and economic hardship, Nigeria must chart a new course anchored on peace and patriotism.

“As a people with positive mindsets, we must once again embrace the values of unity and peace as the foundation for prosperity and national advancement,” Adaralegbe said.

However, he maintained that promoting peace and unity through cultural diversity is key to building a more inclusive society.

According to him, this can be achieved by celebrating cultural differences, encouraging cross-cultural dialogue, and fostering mutual respect and cooperation.

He also urged law enforcement and government institutions to ensure equitable treatment for all Nigerians, regardless of background.

Describing the PEAN project as a Social Orientation Campaign (SOCAP), Adaralegbe said its aim is to shift the public narrative from a pessimistic view of Nigeria to one centered on patriotism, contribution, progress, and national pride.

“Promoting inclusive spaces where all voices are heard can contribute to a sense of belonging,” he said, adding that the media has a critical role to play in highlighting stories of inter-ethnic collaboration and debunking harmful stereotypes.

“Our mission is to remain the most admired advocates of Nigeria’s advancement. Our vision is to see Nigeria take her rightful place of leadership among the comity of nations,” he declared.

He called on all Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, to see national advancement as a shared responsibility, saying the time has come for citizens to rediscover their individual and collective worth in a rapidly changing world. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
