Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda administered the oath of office and allegiance to the new Secretary to the Government of the state, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari. The appointment comes following the departure of Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who was appointed as a minister and member of the federal executive council.
In his address at the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Radda expressed his gratitude to the former deputy governor, Abdullahi Faskari, for accepting the crucial role during this challenging time. The governor highlighted Faskari’s dedication and love for the state, which influenced his decision to accept the offer despite holding the position of the state’s second-in-command.
Governor Radda emphasized that Abdullahi Faskari’s vast experience in governance will be a valuable asset in running the affairs of the state. He assured members of the state executive council that they now have a reliable, dedicated, and humble partner in progress who is ready to work tirelessly.
Dismissing any speculations about external influence on the appointment, Governor Radda asserted that he chose the former deputy governor in the best interest of the state. He appealed to members of the state executive council to work harmoniously with the new Secretary to achieve their common goals.
Addressing the media, the new Secretary to the Government, Abdullahi Faskari, expressed his gratitude to Governor Radda for the invitation to support the administration in moving the state forward. He promised to live up to expectations and discharge his duties with utmost dedication.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the conference room governor’s office was attended by the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruq Lawal Jobe, State Chief Judge Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, State Grand Khadi Dr Muhammad Kabir Abubakar, and some members of the state executive council.
