Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting various groups of social media influencers at the National Assembly on behalf of the Deputy Senate President, Senator (Dr) Barau I Jibrin, CFR.
The groups of influencers with large followings on TikTok, Facebook, and other social media platforms were in Senator Barau’s office to brief him on their efforts to enhance the dissemination of information on his numerous activities.
They said this was their way of appreciating Senator Barau’s impactful representation. They hailed Senator Barau’s intervention in poverty alleviation, agriculture, education, healthcare and economic empowerment.
I commended them for keeping the general populace abreast of Senator Barau’s activities.
I further implored them to be guided by truthfulness, justice, and fairness and to refrain from combative, abusive, and defamatory rhetoric in all their social media posts.
