The new kogi Accountant General , Hajiya Habiba Oyiza Onumoko has appointed a graduate of guidance and counseling as Director of Accounts , Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, amid presence of many accountant graduates both at the Ministries and Accountant General office.
Investigation has revealed that this has been the practice at the state level since the assumption of the Kogi Accountant General of duty from the local government, with her appointment by the the former administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
The policy of elimination of other tribes from holding accounting officers positions both as Director of finance, DFA, and Director of Accounts in favour of the Kogi Accountant General’s extraction has been the other of the day.
Currently, many local government staffers from the central senatorial district have been redeployed by the Accountant General undergoing series of trainings to take over as accountants and finance officers at the state level , killing the ambition of employed and trained accountants at the state level in the civil service.
The civil service is supposed to practice a policy of assimilation and not elimination, as a call has gone to Kogi Governor , Alhaji Usman Ododo to halt the ongoing anomaly at the State Accountant General’s office forthwith.
It is also a common knowledge that super departments and World Bank sponsored programs for Kogi state are been handled by people from one section of the state against the other parts .
