Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the Press.
After a wide and careful consultation with critical members of PDP, analysis of public opinions of relevant stakeholders across the zone, PDP Ambassadors held its EXCO meeting in Keffi and resolved as follows:
1. Having sampled the opinions of the people in the grassroots, we realized that Dr Umar Musa Galadima as a Senator will be a perfect balance of power amongst the two federal constituencies in the zone.
2. That politics as a game of numbers requires someone like Dr. Galadima who can actually muzzle the numbers to win the seat at both primary and secondary elections in 2027.
3. That since 2011, when Abdullahi Adamu became the Senator, it will be 16 years by 2027 for Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal Constituency when Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada will complete his tenure in the Senate. Recall that late Senator Abubakar Sodangi was the first to be elected into the Senate for 12 years from the Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency. So it’s now in the best interest of the party and principle of democracy to zone the ticket back to Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency for fair sharing and representation.
4. That with Dr Galadima as a Senator at the National Assembly, the zone can be sure of required legislative activities to solve the various challenges and deliver democratic dividends to the people.
5. That Dr Galadima is most qualified for the Senate, a round peg in a round hole, who had demonstrated loyalty to the party and people through his support, efforts and commitment during the 2023 general elections.
6. That as a Senator, Galadima will guarantee peaceful coexistence between the government and the people, which is a panacea for rapid economic growth and national development.
7. We therefore urge all well meaning party members and other critical stakeholders who have the interest of the zone at heart to throw their weight behind this call in convincing Dr Galadima for the contest.
8. That we also want to use this medium to enjoin all and sundry for a peaceful celebration and sober reflection during the festivities, especially the Christmas for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ
9. It may interest you to note that PDP Ambassadors is a grassroots based organisation with structures across the length and breadth of the state, with proper understanding of the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
