The spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, in an interview on Tuesday evening, said Bello is having a session with investigators of the commission.
”He is being detained in our custody and he is going to be arraigned in court accordingly,” he said.
Meanwhile, a judge, Maryanne Anenih of the FCT High Court, Abuja, where Mr Bello was charged with diversion of N110 billion in Kogi State’s funds, had on 14 November fixed 27 November (Wednesday), for the former governor’s arraignment.
Meanwhile EFCC has denied the news being circulated in a section of the media that Bello either personally surrendered or Governor Ododo Usman handed him over to the anti -curruption agency.
The EFCC spokesman further clarified that the former Governor was in his hideout at 12:56 AM when security personnel acting on tip off ,arrested him . BELLO was allowed to call his lawyers and they are çurrently helping him at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja .
