In addition to the lively ambience of Christmas and Yuletide celebrations which have in no mean measure brought life and happiness to many souls & communities; the Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims who doubles as the member representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State yesterday commenced the empowerment of thousands of his constituents with different empowerment items running into billions of naira.
The empowerment exercise featured the distribution of different items including brand new sedan Cars, TVS tricycles, varieties of motorcycles, sewing machines, science equipment, Generator sets, grinding engines, deep freezers, load beds, etc in a view to reduce over dependence and idleness which he described as pathway to irresponsibility.
In his address, the Federal Lawmaker expressed gratitude to almighty Allah for making it possible for him to be at the National Assembly, He appreciated the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Predecessor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello for creating an enabling environment for elected officials to deliver good governance and thanked the wonderful people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas for their unwavering support to his stewardship.
The flagging off ceremony was performed by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, ably represented by His Deputy, Elder (Comr) Joel Salifu Oyibo who in his address described Rt. Hon Halims as a great pride to the APC in not just Kogi State but Nigeria at large.
On ground to witness the epoch event which started with a tribute to the Paramount traditional ruler of Ankpa Local Government Area, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II were all elected and appointed officials of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas, party officials, critical stakeholders and supporters of the the high ranking honourable.
Several speakers at the event applauded the Deputy House Leader for his foresight, positive representation, open door policy and other stewardships such as healthcare development, educational interventions, human capital development, infrastructure, agriculture, etc with a unanimous appeal and confidence that the party will adopt candidature for a continued stay at the National Assembly.
The beneficiaries, among whom were long serving Aides, dedicated constituents, pressure groups, secondary schools, party men/women, Halims support groups and artisans drawn from the three Local Government Areas of Rep. Halims’ jurisprudence could not hold their joy as they all prayed fervently for him to keep succeeding over his adversaries. They assured him of their continued support at all times and advised those who have lost the path to return home adding that Rep. Halims’ capacity is enough to balance every genuine aspiration.
