The ranking Senator Dr Yahaya Ugbane added additional year today , Tuesday, December, 2025.
Senator Ugbane a three times Senator came to the political limelight in the early days of the administration of the third democratic republic in Nigeria.
Though, shortlived at first instance, he returned to the Senate to spend two term after Senator Dr Alex Usman Kadiri’s stint at the red chamber.
Before then , he was Commissioner for Education in Kogi state during whose tenure, Late Prince Abubakar Audu established the Kogi State University Anyigba now Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba and Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
While serving as Commissioner for Education in Kogi state he created many employment opportunities for the people of Kogi East, that places our youths out of joblessness during that period.
Before then , Senator Yahaya Ugbane who came from the private sector to showcase his prowess in the public sector , was at the helms of affairs of Lobi Bank , belonging to the Benue state government as Managing Director , the first Igala son to attain that position in the Banking sector.
Ugbane who worked exceptionally and meritoriously retired without blemish from the Banking sector and joined the public sector by engaging in politics and political activities.
An indigenous man to the core , Ugbane opened up employment opportunities for his extraction and many Nigerians while holding forth as Senator representing Kogi East, established series of empowerment programs , constructed boreholes in view of of his expanded skill development and capacity building across the nine local government.
He contributed to the development of the entire Kogi East by locating one of the biggest power station in Anyigba, Abadigba abandoned by the successive administration and being revived by the current administration.
Senator Ugbane vied to rule Kogi state in one of his political sojourn , having retired into private life and personal business along philanthropy and charity.
As you clocked additional year on the surface of the earth, we prayed that Almighty God will continue to sustain, guide and guard in your future endeavors and sojuorn .
