Going by the distinct performance and outstanding decisions taken by Brig. General Mohammed Buba Marwa, (Rtd) , OFR, CON ,The Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, a call has gone to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to renew the tenure by extending his appointment through a ‘special presidential decision for another five years’ to enable the Chairman stabilize the fight against drugs in Nigeria.
Since the establishment of the Agency, from Fulani Kwajafa to many Chairmen of the Agency , nobody can vouch his mind to have fought drugs addicts and peddlers like Brig.General Buba Marwa Rtd.
Marwa has bring to their knees drugs merchandise, merchants and their collaborators in the last few years through series of arrests , invasion and extradition and prosecution
A media statement issued by the group ‘Public Monitors’ headed by Media Consultant, Malam Abubakar Yusuf appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure genuine continuity by extending the tenure of Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd. purely on merit .
He advised that the refusal to extend the tenure of the current Chairman of the Agency , Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd will mean a disservice to Nigerians, an efforts in futility with many years achievements of Brig. Gen Marwa Rtd and by detering his continuity.
He stressed the need that Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd stabilized the NDLEA with many years of leadership, totally wiped out drugs business, drugs addicts , drugs barons, collision with officers, men, collaborators who have taken over Nigeria, with drugs business became the other of the day, and affected the image of the country.
He said Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd has restored the image of the country through multiple arrests , detention, locally and internationally and presentation of culprits to the general public .
“It is only Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd that arrested a serving Commisioner of Police (CP) , who colludes with drug addicts, barons using his office, even though the case is subject to court process, to patronize drug barons and gave them cover . ”
“No doubt Marwa a former Military administrator of Lagos state who used his tenure to transform Lagos state is given opportunity to make impact in the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.”
General Marwa who is non religious, non sectional, non+ bias believes in performance and hardwork as his success story.
“Marwa’s achievements is beyond making impacts , but fighting drug cartel and barons in the country.”
Staff welfare and staff development among many other benefits has been on a high pedestal, timely , as the staff expressed confidence in the many years leadership of Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd. through payments of constant salaries and allowances, introduction of more incentives and payment of arears and outstanding benefits.
“Training and retraining, upgrading of training facilities to modern and modest ones that will enhance their on the job performance has become the other of the day .”
The construction of more training facilities and building of more has become the basis of the achievements of Brig. General Buba Marwa Rtd.
They begged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider performance, achievements and the zeal to sustain the good image of the country built by the leadership of NDLEA under the current Chairman.
