For the Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister , Nzenwo Nyesom Wike, the zeal to develop and anxiousness to equate the FCT with other developing countries is unwavering, internally and globally .
This was a fall out from the visit to United Arab Emirates UAE recently along with it’s officials to establish a relationship that is geared towards favoring both countries in the area of infrastructure among many others.
Attending the Asia Pacific Cities Submit and Mayor’s Forum in Dubai , Wike used the opportunity to broker alot of bilateral discussions between the government of Nigeria (FCT) and UAE.
As the flagship of the country, Nigeria, been Minister of FCT, portraying Nigeria in good light was germane to diplomatic relations and overtures.
Wike who led quality and well coordinated delegates from Nigeria made the country proud at the auspicious summit.
On arrival, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, with the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, during the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum, in Dubai had fruitful discussion.
Wike , who arrived in Dubai, and attended 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum discussedother relevant issues and sidelines issues with the UAE authorities that will be beneficial to the two countries
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, also attended the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum (2025APCS) also in Dubai.
While in Dubai, He was received by the Consular General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim as well as officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration who had arrived earlier before the session.
FCT Minister Wike, also went along with the Chairman of APC Rivers State, Tony Okocha, and the Chairman of PDP Rivers State, Chukwuemeka Aaron, at the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The FCT officials were the Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Engr Richard Yunana Dauda, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Benedict Daudu, Director, Department of Development and Control, Mukhtar Galadima, Director Engineering Services, Engr Chuks Udeh and Director of Protocol, Sani Musa Daura.
The following day , the Minister who lead a discussion panel in which was fielded with questions on the FCT, and also interact with Mayors of other capital cities during the summit.
According to the event’s organizers, the 2025APCS will deliver long-term value for cities and businesses seeking trade and investment opportunities in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and beyond which Africa, Nigeria was also interested.
The event, which is an initiative and instance of Brisbane City Council, Australia, was one of the most diverse convenings of mayors, city leaders, business executives and young professionals worldwide that interested Nigeria.
Determined to take the FCT to greater heights, Wike’s diplomatic shuttles that begins in earnest, will pave way to attract both local and international relationships, to reverse the awkward development before his assumption of duty .
With the success recorded in the UAE summit , it is imminent that the Minister , Nyesom Nzenwo Wike will going forward engage in diplomatic shuttles to promote all round developments of the FCT in the next two years and going forward.
