The Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has said that the only way a Constituent can count in serious political discussions is to possess a voter’s card as he called on eligible voters to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration Exercise (CVR).

The Federal Lawmaker added that voting is a citizenship right which is displayed with voice and their voice can only be heard through the ballot. He called on the good people of Ankpa, omala and Olamaboro Federal constituency to take advantage of the opportunity of the ongoing registration to secure their franchise.

Furthermore, he called on those who have just attained voting age, eligible but have never registered, lost their previously issued voters card or relocated to the area to ensure they register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration.

According to the Deputy House Leader, “the law does not believe in numbers, what the law recognises are documented data and the only data recognised by INEC is registered voters. Hence, the need to register in multitudes if we must retain our numerical strength in order to be able to keep boasting of our numbers, the Deputy Leader said.

It can be recalled that on Monday August 25, 2025, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the nationwide commencement of the Continuous Voters Registration Exercise. The exercise being an essential step in ensuring active participation in upcoming elections, INEC called on all eligible voters to take part. The exercise will be on till Wednesday 10th December, 2025 at all registration centres – nationwide
