Residents of Sheik Hamdan Secondary School, Mater dei, Almohass, Royal Spring, Old Kutunku, Specialist, Kaida Kutunku, Jeremiah Useni Roads and others of Gwagwalada has appealed to the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike to construct the above mentioned roads so as to give a befitting lives to the people of the areas.
Rising from a joint community meeting on Saturday, they opined that abandoning these roads that are in bad condition will worsened both social and security problems of the areas.
While commending the Minister for a job well-done , they said the urban renewal been witnessed in Gwagwalada and other areas councils with the rehabilitation and construction of roads had placed local council areas at par with urban renewal.
The numerous community leaders also appealed to the Minister to look into the critical and dilapidated “Hajj camp” roads in Gwagwalada, stating that when completed will resolve the roads problems in Gwagwalada.
They said even though the contractors has moved out of Gwagwalada, they are confident that the Minister will award the second batch of roads for 2025 soon.
They thanked the Minister for prioritizing rural rejuvenation, while requesting for other development infrastructure like solar street lights, pipe borne water reticulation and expansion, completion of abandoned Gwagwalada General Hospital among others.
