Mr. Seidu, a respected butcher and cow meat seller from Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been tragically killed.
A day before Sallah, Mr. Seidu was invited by a Fulani man to Achigili village in Biraidu District, also in Dekina LGA, to come and buy a cow. Sadly, that was the last time he was seen alive.
Days later, his family received a call from his captors suspected Fulani men demanding a ₦2 million ransom. The ransom was paid, but Mr. Seidu was not released, and there was no further trace of him.
Following a report, the police swung into action and arrested two Fulani men. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to killing Mr. Seidu and led security operatives to the location where his body was buried in a shallow grave.
Many residents are calling on the youth to channel their energy into protecting the community rather than engaging in violence against their own people.
My concern now is even if convicted, they may eventually return to society.
Ejule Youths, over to you.
