Kogi Democratic Group KDG has accused Kogi Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo for mobilising resistance to protect him from public scrutiny on the deployment and management of public funds.
Abdul Abdul , the Protem secretary, Kogi Democratic Group KDG bare his mind on Sunday on the alarm of misappropriation of 13.4B local government funds raised by comrade Austin Okai .
He reminded Governor Ododo that he is no longer the Auditor General for Local Government were accountability was thrown to the wind and he was shielded by the former administration, stating that as the state Governor and with the new regime in the local government propagated by the federal government , local government funds must be accounted for.
He criticised those protecting Ododo from mismanagement of Kogi local government funds allegations, saying the Governor must account for the December local government allocation to Kogi state.
While reminding the Governor of accountability, Abdul said gone were those days when public officers/ Governors feast on local government allocation as he did with Yahaya Bello for consecutive eight years, with percentage salaries for primary school teachers and local government workers .
He asked the anti corruption agency and Federal Ministry of Justice to beam search light on the weighty allegations raised by Comrade Austin Okai and his team of transparency and accountability body .
He warned on the consequences of allowing the Ododo administration start with the diversion of local government funds, stating that it will not fulfill the good agenda propagated by the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
