President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to extend the Renewed Hope Agenda program towards the recruitment of 500,000 Customs officers after 15 years of similar exercises, rather than the paltry less than 4,.000 .
He said for over 500,000 applying to fill in the vacancies declared by the Nigerian Customs Service NCS after 15 years , is ridiculous, frustrating and unpatriotic not to engage Nigerians in a gainful employment.
Yusuf Abubakar who made this statement on Monday stated that this will rejig the customs service into generating more revenues, and also create job opportunities to many Nigerians in the current dispensation.
“It will be proper for the Controller General , Nigerian Customs Service NCS, Wale Adeniyi to brief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu including the relevant authorities to affect the Renewed program in the service.
While condemning the utterances of the Chairman , House Committee on Customs, Leke Abejide he accused him of having advantage of replacement been carried out in the service over the years , if not, his statement was quite discouraging to many applicants who are average Nigerians .
