Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed joy and satisfaction over the victory of Abdulsalam Rabiu, a proud son of Katsina, on his outstanding achievement at the 39th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

Rabiu who is also a Medical student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, emerged First Position in the prestigious third category (male) for the memorization of 60 Hizbs of the Glorious Qur’an.

In his congratulatory message, Governor Radda, who has consistently championed the advancement of Islamic education in Katsina State, described Abdulsalam Rabiu as “not just a pride of Katsina, but a shining example of the talents being nurtured under our administration’s educational initiatives.”

Governor Radda noted that the victory resonates deeply with Katsina State Government commitment to fostering both Islamic and Western Education.

The Governor further expressed his optimism about Rabiu’s prospects at the forthcoming Global Qur’anic Recitation Competition, where he will potentially represent Nigeria.

“This achievement at the national level, competing against participants from 35 states, demonstrates the quality of Islamic education we are building in Katsina State.

We are confident that Abdulsalam will make us proud at the global stage as well,” the Governor added.

Governor Radda assured people of Katsina state that the government will continue to invest heavily in educational infrastructure and create an enabling environment for our youth to excel in both religious and secular pursuits.

The eight-day competition, organized by the Musabaqah Foundation for Qur’anic Recitation in Nigeria, featured 238 participants (125 males and 113 females) competing across six categories.

“As we celebrate this victory, we reaffirm our administration’s dedication to nurturing more Abdulsalam Rabius. This success story reinforces our position as a state committed to excellence in religious education, the Governor concluded.
