The Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has revealed that Cassava production is the cornerstone of agricultural revolution in Nigeria and around the world.
He made the declaration in a virtual message to participants attending a five days Sensitisation/Advocacy for the awareness of locally developed farms tools in Ankpa Federal Constituency holding at Ankpa. In the message which was conveyed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh, the Federal Lawmaker underscored the significant impact of Cassava byproducts to be highly attracting investments in the agricultural value chain.
According to Rep. Halims, locally developed farms tools have the capacity to boost perennial crops which will in turn improve the availability of food, improve the local economy and create meaningful job opportunities for agricultural enthusiasts.
The guest lecturer, Mr Sunday Salifu who engaged participants in both theory and technical sessions had a special focus on cassava production and took participants on an excursion trip round different locations where cassava is being processed into different food stuffs.
The participants who were drawn from across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Local Government Areas hailed the effectiveness of Rep.
