Kogi state government has introduced a skill acquisition programs through the provision of a portal of registration free for the various programs.
This was contained in a release by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Non -formal Education, Dr Aminu Attaboh released on Thursday.
According the release, about 19 skill acquisition programs will be debuted for the new program to improve skill development.
He further indicated that registration form are available for free of charge , while those outside the state capital will soon be uploaded for them.
The release further said ..
“The Kogi State Government through the State Ministry of Education has opened a portal for the registration of our teeming youths to acquire relevant skills and crafts in a technical and vocational training programs that has been outlined in a carefully selected skilled acquisition programs. ”
“Specifically, the following programs are available at the various training centres the Ministry is partnering with;
Viz:”
“1) interior design/decoration
2) Graphic Design
3) Computer Applications
4) Software Development
5) Fishery and Poultry
6) Automobile/Mechanics
7) Furniture making
8) Sewing/Tailoring/Fashion designs
9) Phone repairs/Accessories
10) Hairdressing/Stylist
11) Electrical/Electronics
12) Cake and Confectionaries
13) CCTV Installations
14) Building and Erosion Controls.
15) Cybersecurity training
16) Nomadic Education/Animal Rearing
17) Photography/filming and cinematic
18) Woodworks
19) Soap making/Cosmetics.
and a host of others.”
“Forms are available at the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Informal and Vocational Education at the State Ministry of Education for FREE.”
” In addition to acquiring relevant skills, reduction in unemployment, crimes and criminalities amongst our youths population is the major target.”
“A registration portal for those that cannot come to Lokoja, the State capital will soon be uploaded for an online registration process. ”
