The abandoned Koton Karfe cottage hospital built by the late Member , House of Representatives and House leader in the 7th Assembly, Rt Honourable Umar Buba Jibril had become an eye sore.
Aside the practical experience of abandoning it, it has also deny the people of koto and it’s environs the vision of the convener of the hospital from bringing both primary and secondary health care services nearer to the people.
Six years down the line after his demise, it is unfortunate and uncalled for, for the subsequent House of Representatives members both at 8th and 9th Assembly not contemplating the next line of action.
With the epileptic services of government General Hospital in Koto and clinics around the area, the abandoned Cottage hospital deserved urgent attention and mitigation from the current member, House of Representatives for Koto and Kogi Federal Constituency, Aguye Suleiman Danladi.
The legacy of Umar Buba Jibril must not be in vain in his quest to bring closer to his people quality and adequate health care services in line with SDGs goals 3.
A constituency project that was built by a former federal lawmaker can be equipped by subsequent ones rather than abandoning it by the subsequent occupants.
The die is cast and the ball is in the court of the current member in the 10th Assembly to ensure the immediate utilization of the facility by including equipping the hospital in the current budget of 2025.
Aside including it in his Constituency projects , he can make a case to the leadership of the house since the late lawmaker died while in service.
A stich in time saves nine.
