A moment ago, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, handed over the minors who were arrested over the last August Endbadgovernance protest.
The release of the minors followed the directives of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to that effect on Monday.
Sequel to the presidential directives, the Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier discharged and acquitted the minors.
During a brief event at the State House in Abuja, I thanked President Tinubu for the directive to release the minors.
While speaking with the minors, I encouraged them to maintain good conduct and assured them that we would work together to support their education and overall welfare.
Alongside the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, and Engineer Sagir Ibrahim Koki, a member of the House of Representatives for Kano Municipal, we will see to the education and empowerment of these minors.
