The Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives and Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims, is set to distribute about six hundred and fifty bags of fertilisers to his constituents as a means of addressing food insecurity in his constituency and the country.
According to a statement issued by His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru Adejoh, the fertilisers are free and intended to boost agricultural development which remains a key part of the Deputy Leader’s stewardship.
He added that the distribution will be taking place on Thursday 31st October, 2024 as he assured constituents that the distribution will be devoid of any party affiliation noting that the gesture is not only for party members but the entire people of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal constituency.
Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, in order to ensure a rancour free distribution has personally designed a template that captures virtually all strata of the society and shall be strictly monitored for a transparent and accountable distribution, He added.
The sharing formula features a total of one hundred bags to labour unions such as NASU, NUT, NULGE, MHWUN etc; fifty bags will go to traditional councils across the constituency; religious institutions will get no lesser than one hundred bags while another four hundred bags will go to Political party hierarchies.
Also, the various Halims support groups across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency will receive no lesser than 100 bags for their members as the NURTW, NAATA and Mortocycle riders association across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency will get thirty, ten and thirty bags respectively.
The lawmaker urged the people to conduct themselves in orderly manner during the distribution, appealed for more support and cooperation with him toward more robust representation as He promised to also give priority to education and healthcare which he has been greatly investing in for the greater good of the people.
