The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, seeks bilateral relations and explores new avenues for partnership during the high level engagement in Kuwait Embassy in Abuja .
Governor expressed gratitude to the Kuwait government for the ongoing support and discussed potential partnerships in key economic sectors.
During the meeting with Kuwait Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Salim KH. Almuzayen, Governor Radda points to the existing collaborations between Katsina State and various Kuwaiti organizations.
“These partnerships have resulted in significant contributions to our state’s development, including the construction of mosques, schools, and classrooms, as well as scholarship programmes for vulnerable communities,” Governor Radda said.
He emphasizes Katsina’s agricultural potential, particularly in livestock farming.
The Governor outlines plans to introduce large-scale goat and sheep rearing farming, expressing interest in collaborating with Kuwait for potential off-take agreements.
The Governor also discussed the state’s initiative to establish a modern slaughterhouse facility capable of producing halal meat for export to Middle Eastern and Asian markets, leveraging the state’s international airport and Dry Sea port for efficient transportation.
In addition to agriculture, Governor Radda explained Katsina’s rich mineral resources, particularly lithium deposits, as another area ripe for partnership. He invited potential Kuwaiti investors to visit Katsina and explore these opportunities firsthand.
Reacting to the partnership offer, the Kuwait Ambassador in Nigeria, Amb. Salim KH. Almuzayen, appreciated Katsina State delegation led by Governor Radda.
He expressed optimism about the potential for increased cooperation.
Amb. Almuzayen, however, promised to pay an on-the-spot visit to Katsina state. This, he said, will afford him the opportunity to have more insights on the areas of partnership and actions.
The visit further indicates Katsina State Government led by Governor Radda commitment to fostering international partnerships and attracting foreign investment to drive economic growth and development.
