The Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) has embarked on an ambitious month-long “train-the-trainers” program focused on waste-to-wealth initiatives. This marks a significant step towards sustainable development and economic empowerment in the state.

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, has been lauded for his pivotal role and vision in supporting this innovative program. The initiative, fully sponsored by the state government, aims to properly use waste management practices while creating new economic opportunities for Katsina’s citizens.

Engineer Kabir Abdullahi Kofar Soro, Coordinator of KYCV, expressed deep gratitude for the governor’s unwavering support. “His Excellency’s confidence in our centre has become our pride and pillar,”Kofar Soro stated.

“This initiative will contribute positively towards the state’s future development.”

The comprehensive training programme goes beyond waste management, incorporating valuable skills in weaving and even offering lessons in the Chinese language, recognizing its growing importance in global communication.

Trainers involved in the program have been praised for their exceptional commitment and dedication to imparting essential skills and knowledge to the participants.

“The impact of this initiative on our trainees and the community at large cannot be overstated,”Kofar Soro emphasized.

He further pledged that KYCV would continue to work diligently to realize the governor’s policies and programs aimed at developing youth skills.

This innovative approach to waste management and skill development is expected to have far-reaching effects on Katsina’s economy and environment.

As the programme unfolds over the next month, it will be closely watched as a potential model for sustainable development initiatives across Nigeria.
