Colonel Yousuf Promises to Reciprocate Visit
The Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, embarked on a significant visit to Damagaram, the capital city of Zinder Region in Niger Republic. The visit was marked by warm hospitality and the reinforcement of long-standing cultural and economic ties between Katsina State and Niger Republic.
Governor Radda’s visit was occasioned by two important events; the wedding Fatiha and the turbaning ceremony of Alhaji Idi Kwaddo, a prominent Katsina-born business mogul, as the new Talban Damagaram.
Upon arrival at Garin Rana, the main entrance to Damagaram, Governor Radda was accorded a warm reception by Colonel Yousuf Labo, the Governor of Damagaram State, along with key officials and traditional title holders. The delegation then proceeded to pay homage to the Sultan of Damagaram, His Royal Highness, Abubakar Oumarou Sanda at the Sultan’s palace.
During the courtesy visit, Sultan Sanda commended Governor Radda for his exemplary leadership in Katsina State, stating, “We watch and read about your achievements in Katsina. May Allah bless you and strengthen you.” The Sultan extended his wishes for an enjoyable stay in the Sultanate.
At a subsequent reception held at the Government Lodge, Governor Radda highlighted the historical ties between Katsina and Niger Republic. He emphasized, “Katsina and Niger Republic share a long-standing relationship and many things in common. We hope to sustain and strengthen these bonds.”
Governor Radda expressed optimism that the dual ceremonies of Alhaji Kwaddo’s turbaning and wedding would further solidify the relationship between the two regions. He also conveyed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the government and people of Damagaram.
Earlier, Colonel Yousuf welcomed Governor Radda and commended him for prioritizing this visit, noting that “it demonstrates how much you value friendship.” Colonel Yousuf also expressed his desire to reciprocate with a future visit to Katsina.
Governor Radda was accompanied by a delegation including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, and Lamidon Katsina,Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri, Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, and other government officials.
This visit is in line with the Katsina State Government’s commitment to fostering international relations and promoting cultural exchange with neighbouring countries.
