The Chairman, forum of local government Secretaries, Alhaji Alhaji on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2024 poured encomiums on the Kogi State governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo for his quick intervention and developmental strides in the state.
Alhaji Alhaji spoke from Osara, Adavi local government area while on the entourage of the governor to Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara.
“The university was visited by kidnappers few months ago where about 13 students were kidnapped but were later released due to the quick response by the state government. ”
“The governor approved the immediate construction of a perimeter fence round the institution and installation of 24 hours CCTV cameras with the capacity to view 10 miles away and be ready for inauguration within the next sixteen weeks. ”
The highlights of the visit to the University was the surprise visit of the governor to a farm where the farmer was cultivating ridges very close to the institution, where he took over the planting of maize on the farm to the astonishment and delight of officials, politicians and the villagers.
In his address to the media shortly before departing Osara, he said: “All leaders are supposedly servants who should work for the led. I am the Chief Servant of kogi state and willing to serve my people with my God givien talents and abilities for the total liberation of the people. ”
He continued:”No one, not even me is entitled to any award while in the office. Awards and titles should be earned after the people are convinced I have satisfactorily worked at the end of my tenure, thus: qualified to be recognised. Then, I will gladly receive all honour(s) given to me.”
