The carnage in Agojeju Odo in Omala Local government area of Kogi state is unacceptable.
For the umpteenth times, the Fulani Herders have invaded parts of Kogi east killing and maiming innocent citizens in what appeared to be a predetermined orgiastically scripted too many attacks in a row with too much damages and destruction of lives and property .
IYLA condemns this wanton notoriety and demand that the perpetrators be arrested to face the wrath of the law .
In as much as we believe in the freedom of movements of people across all stratas to anywhere in Nigeria ,there’s no space for barbarians in Kogi east.
We have zero tolerance for those who have no respect for human dignity and liberty for mutual coexistence.
The Fulani Herders in Omala Local government area have overstayed their welcome.
Accordingly, we demand that they leave within 48hrs as we cannot guarantee their safety in the area .
In similar vein, we call on the youth across the affected communities to resist and defend any unprovoked attack from anyone-we cannot abandon our land for total strangers!
We call on all our leaders to step up efforts in deescalating this ugly development in Kogi east.
Rt.Hon.Dr.Ojoachele Akor Felix,
Speaker Igala Youth Leaders Assembly ( IYLA)
