The Social Democratic Party’s MuriSam Campaign Council has condemned the abduction of its Director of New Media, Comrade Isaiah Davies Ijele, by a joint operation of the police and state DSS acting on the orders of Governor Bello.
In a press statement released today, the Campaign Council described the abduction as a “flagrant violation of human rights and democratic values.”
The statement also said that the abduction was a “grave threat to the democratic fabric of our nation” and that such acts of tyranny have no place in a society that values justice, freedom, and the rule of law.
The Campaign Council called on the federal government to urgently intervene and bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.
The statement also expressed solidarity with Comrade Ijele and his family during this distressing time.
The Campaign Council said that it would not be deterred by these acts of violence and that it would continue to engage in peaceful advocacy.
The Campaign Council also called for unity and resilience in the face of adversity.
The hashtag #FreeIjele has been trending on social media since the news of the abduction broke.
