The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD has described the reign of Alhaji Saad Abubakar III as the Sultan of Sokoto, so far as eventful and memorable.
In a statement to congratulate Alh. Abubakar on the 17th anniversary of him ascending the exalted throne of the Sokoto Caliphate, Radda noted that the country’s relative peace and stability, together with the mutual cohesion among citizens of varying religious creeds was aided by the patriotic calls of the Sultan and other prominent religious leaders in the country.
He said: “It gives me a distinct pleasure to felicitate His Eminence, a father figure and great pillar of support to many contemporary Nigerian leaders like me, on this momentous occasion. It has been 18 years since he became the spiritual leader of Nigerian Muslims.
“But within the period highlighted, the Sultan has accomplished several feats that are unparalleled. He has remained the binding force uniting all Muslims in the country. Alh. Saad Abubakar III is quintessentially a humble, selfless, intelligent, bold and compassionate leader.
“The paramount spiritual helmsman of Muslims in the country has tirelessly advocated and practically helped to foster inter-religious harmony among diverse Nigerians. His Eminence, among other things, has also been a guiding light and pillar of support for the ruling class, consistently tasking politicians on good leadership”.
Governor Radda urged the Sultan to remain steadfast in his advocacy on righteous courses and call for national unity, peace and integration, praying that Allah (S.W.T) will continue to bless him with precious good health, tremendous wisdom and peaceful mind as he continuously serves humanity.
