The Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Kogi State University, Anyigba, Professor Simon Koma Okwute has been honored with leadership award by the alumni association of the school.
The alumni association commended the first Vice Chancellor of the Institution who took the school to greater heights, during his stint at the helm of affairs during the maiden meeting at the 20th anniversary held at Edge drive Hotel, Lokoja, Kogi state.
The body described Professor Okwute as a unique and highly revered administrator, who laid a solid foundation to the current enviable height of the Institution.
The body said the award was well deserved, considering his efforts and strides during the early stage of the Institution.
The former Vice Chancellor who was represented by the former NLC Chairman in Kogi state, Comrade Emmanuel Omata saluted the courage of the body for honoring diligence, hardwork and dedication to duty, saying this will encourage future leaders towards rendering selfless services.
He advised the members of the body to be alive to their responsibility in any given opportunity, stating that dedication to duty and hardwork always pay in any given situations.
He thanked the organisers for the gigantic recognition and reward, stating that this will spur him to do more in any endeavor.
