Our attention has been called to a publication emanating from the Benue State branch of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) wherein the supposed publicity secretary of party,Mr. Bemgba Iortyom made an attempt at mischievously blackmailing the judiciary,and particularly the President of the Court of Appeal,Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban Mensen,while putting the person and office of the Governor of Benue State Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia in context.
In summary,the publicity secretary of the Benue PDP roguishly averred that the Executive Governor of Benue State,Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia should not have attended the One Year Remembrance Anniversary in honour of the late Prince Paeke Shepaan ,the son of the President of the Court of Appeal. As according to the uncanny imagination
of Mr. Bemgba Iortyom,Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia’s presence at the occasion was to influence the cause of justice against the PDP at the Benue State Governorship Election Tribunal(BGEPT).
Meanwhile,to start with,and for those who do not know,Mr. Bemgba Iortyom,who is presently a two hundred level undergraduate student at the Benue State University,has a student history as a regrettable aspiring university graduate whose ill fated background in his quest for a degree dates as far back as 1992-to date,without a certificate to show for it. His delinquent and deviant student dispositions have over the years made him to suffer some self inflicted causes that have rendered him useless in obtaining a university degree, even as he approaches the age of 60 years on earth. Similarly,Mr. Bemgba Iortyom,it is understood is suffering from the severe consequences of the failure of his party,the (PDP) in the 2023 general elections. A scenario that has totally beclouded his senses and eluded him of sensible thoughts,civility and Godliness. To this extent,is therefore,not uncommon that someone like Mr. Bemgba Iortyom whose only miserable source of survival as a parasite in the hitherto PDP government in Benue,and who today has been cut off from government patronage as a result of the victory of the APC in Benue State will continue to cry and wail like a child whose mouth has been removed from the milking breast of a mother !
However,for the records,we want Mr. Bemgba Iortyom and the Benue PDP to take note of the following:
1. That Mr. Bemgba Iortyom and the entire Benue PDP lack the integrity,confidence,trust and credibility to profile or tell Governor Hyacinth Alia which public function he should attend or not to attend!! The Benue PDP has lost her reflexes. No value,no significance!!
2. That the primitively mischievous assumption or rather blackmailing insinuation that Rev. Fr. Dr. Alia’s attendance at the one year remember of the late son of the President of the Court of Appeal was to influence justice against the PDP in Benue State is not only a poorly concocted blackmail against the President of the Court of Appeal but a mischievously machinated sub judicial approach by the Benue PDP to also distract and blackmail the Benue State Governorship Election Tribunal. For this,we urge the Benue PDP and Mr. Bemgba Iortyom to tender an urgent public apology to the Court of Appeal of Nigeria and the Benue State Governorship Election Tribunal.
3. That Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia’s emergence as the 6th democratically elected Governor of Benue State was a derivation of the most popular democratic choice of the Benue People,where the Governor won the gubernatorial election with a landslide difference of votes cast,as it has never been experienced by any governorship candidate or party in the entire political history of the Benue State since its creation in 1976. To this,extent, the Governorship Mandate of the Benue people as entrusted in the acceptable and trusted hands of the Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia is not under any judicial threat to warrant any farcical insinuation or asinine imaginations from the Benue PDP and Mr. Bemgba Iortyom.
4. That the failure of the Benue PDP to have raised issues over why other state Governors (both serving and past),and other dignitaries across party lines such as Nyesome Wike,Simon Lalong,Boss Mustapha,His Excellency,Emmanuel Akabe,Jonah Jang,etc all attended the one year remembrance ceremony of the late son the of the President of Court of Appeal,it clearly shows that the Benue PDP and Mr. Bemgba Iortyom are not only myopic,heartless,and callous,but they all insensitive in their pointlessness in focusing on Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State.
5. That the Benue PDP and her publicity secretary are all an embodiment of persons who lack human sympathy and indeed,insensitive to human feelings and emotions!!! Otherwise,the show of concern,love and care to a bereaved family who lost a son such as the case with the President of the Court of Appeal should not have been an issue to be politicized by the Benue PDP and her publicity secretary.
6.Finally, we wish the Benue PDP and her publicity secretary to take notice that the government of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has set in motion major comprehensive strategies and approaches in implementing her policies,programmes and projects toward socio-economic transformation of the state. The administration is in firm grip and regulation of governance,while putting into focus the immediate payment of salaries,pensions and gratuities of both serving and retired civil servants. The administration is ingeniously committed to rehabilitating the IDPs covering a long and short term plan. The security of lives and property of the people takes primacy in the scheme of governance under the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia as the government is readily harnessing far reaching collaborations with stakeholders in the security sub sector. The government of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia places enormous premium on agriculture and food security as he has far embarked on critical subsidization of agricultural/farm inputs. In line with ensuring transparency,accountability,probity,discipline and fight corruption in governance,the government of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has set up relevant bodies and they are charged with the responsibility of verifying and recovering of existing and stolen government assets,and in rebuilding public trust in governance. The administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia is also demonstrating the willingness to engage both local and foreign direct investors in supporting the government of Benue State towards boosting the tourism,educational ,housing and primary health care services,among others.
