A civil rights movement, Nigeria Unite has solicited for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval to enable the present Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, Dauda Biu to complete his appointment term even when due for retirement .
A statement released in Abuja on Sunday maintained that the new Corps Marshal was cut up with his confirmation as substantive Corps Marshal by former President Muhammadu Buhari in August last year, and should be allowed to serve his term.
The Director, Human Relations of the rights group, Mohammed Adeyemi states that Biu had improved the services of the federal road agency in the last one year and determined to turn around the commission.
He said the immediate Corps Marshal, Bobboyi Oyeyemi got an extension, stating that Biu should not be exempted or be an exception.
Mohammed also declared that the usual service rules allow an incumbent to serve out his term even after due for retirement, staying that it will guarantee continuity.
