The recent honor by the United Nations on the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals SSA-SDGs has been described as more recognition for Nigeria in it’s quest to improve the well being of it’s citizenry, hence the leadership deserve more accolades.
According to the CSO, ‘Revive Nigeria’ maintained that the country had been lucky to have people of proven integrity, dedication and hardworking to handle the global body over the years like Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire.
Imran Lawan who dropped this message in a media forum urged the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take advantage of the unique performance and recognition to focus more attention on the development and retention of the leadership in Nigeria, having worked tirelessly to domesticate the program.
“It is not a matter of praise singing, all over the country even towards the twilight of the former administration, SDGs was still busy commissioning projects that had direct bearing on the lives of the people all over the country.”
“From building of hospitals to schools, skill acquisition and empowerment programs along with other interventions to the pride of the nation, this feat according to him was rare in the present dispensation.”
“The global recognition as the Champion of SDGs was borne out of her passion locally and internationally as well as the transparent and accountable leadership displayed over the years as the manager of Nigeria’s SDGs.”
“The joy of the body in Nigeria is going to be the seamless leadership succession at the UN SDGs in the subsequent dispensation with Adefulire positioned take the lead.”
He congratulated the SSA-SDGs on her numerous awards both locally and internationally, advising her to sustain the tempo of service to the country known for over the decades.
